Lucas Hanemen Express-Tearing Up the Rails.-Wow, so much variety and tons of dynamics. Check the funky Give Me Life, the soul of Waiting at Your Door, or the excellent roots of Storybook Love which later explodes. Impressive you bet.
Dawn Tyler Watson-Jawbreaker-This is full band DTW and it smokes. Fresh off her win at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis Watson goes Aretha-esque on Shine On, rolls it out on the whiplash rock n’ roll of Son of A Gun and sings the hell out of Bob Dylan’s Forever Young. Easily one of the best vocalists in any genre. This is soul baby!!!
Beth Garner-Snake Farm-Can’t say I’m a fan of the Snake cover art, but Beth Garner gets it done for real folks. A heck of a cool guitarist and amen to her killer band on this album, Check out the groove of Backdoor Freddie, the intoxication of Wish I Was or the smoking Used to Be. I say T for Texas and a holler of a big B for Beth. Get some of this folks!
