This 6 track acoustic set is so good and natural I can’t figure out what is keeping Celleste from a national audience.
Personally, I had totally enjoyed her debut cd Ready To Fly in 2010.
There was an old school 70’s rock vibe to the album
This for me seemed to be the direction her talent aspired to.
Then in In 2012 Celleste recorded a 9 track pop cd Join The Infestation. It had a promising Black Keys/Katy Perry vibe to it.
It seemed right for the time.
Celleste’s excellent vocals were on the money, but the album did not bring her the audience that she deserved.
Fast forward to 2013 and the duo decides to take 6 songs from the 2012 album strip them down to an acoustic band and wham.
It’s magic
Join the Infestation (the song) in this form should be gaining a radio audience somewhere between Lorde and KT Tunstall.
Elsewhere Call Me Crazy, Superstar and Onto Something strut a sexy jazz/blues groove that kills
Production and mix by Dick is gorgeous.
What’s next is the total key.
Maybe an opening slot on a national tour with a major artist?.
As it is with many artists the tricky part seems to be finding out how to get Celleste a bigger audience.
One thing for sure, you’re going to love this EP
